School trip EPI "Freedoms, rights and justice", 4 °
This year, all pupils of 4 ° take part in an EPI (pluri-disciplinary education) whose theme is "Freedoms, law and justice".
They
received Mr. Thonon's presiding judge, Mr. Justice Duval-Molinos and a
clerk, Ms. Chassagne, on Tuesday afternoon, December 13.
In the course of the future, they explained to students what their trades consisted of.
As
part of the citizen's journey, they recalled the functioning of justice
in France, the conduct of an audience and then answered the many
questions of enthusiastic students. It was very kind of them to have made the road to college. An article on this rich encounter appeared in the Dauphiné Libéré:

On
Thursday 29/12/16, 4 ° 2 and 4 ° 4 went on a school trip to go deeper
into the subject (4 ° 1 and 4 ° 3 were there at the beginning of the
school year), accompanied by Mme Berthod, Mr Corcel , Mrs Zaki and Mrs
Pariat.
In the morning, the students attended a court hearing. It was exciting and impressive! Not easy not to move for 1h30 but it was worth it! Crimes were tried before the Criminal Court: 3 cases were tried in the morning. This
experience showed the students that our freedom is limited by law, for
the safety of society and the maintenance of our own individual
freedoms.
It also showed us that an ordinary person can make a mistake and then get into big trouble. It is better to reflect on the consequences of our actions but also to assume our mistakes.
Then, two groups of pupils went to look for works related to freedoms and justice to the library of Thonon. The welcome, the game of track and the musical quiz were very appreciated!

Meanwhile, two
other groups visited the town hall of Thonon where they were received by
Mr. Christian Perriot, the Deputy Mayor for Economy and Trade. They were able to discuss with him the freedoms in the municipal council and the freedoms of citizens within the commune.
At noon, the 2 classes paced the pedestrian streets of Thonon in search of the oldest house in Thonon.

The students
discovered the
magnificent architectural heritage
of Evian (including
the town hall,
former residence of the Lumiere
brothers who dazzled us)
and then
visited the exhibition "From the
caricature to the poster"
(1850-1918)
At the Palais Lumière.

The exhibition
"From the caricature to the poster"
was perfectly linked to our EPI
"Freedom and
Justice" since we were able to see political posters,
shocking anti-Semitic posters, caricatures, Charlie's Week,
etc. We enjoyed it very much, it was very interesting!

Everybody had a great day and we
thank all the speakers: the courthouse, the
town hall, the media library, the Palais Lumière.
Here below the output crunched by Mr Corcel throughout the day. Sacred talent!
4 ° 1 and 4 ° 3 will convey their impressions on this release in a future article.
