At the end of the 6°, in 5° year students must choose a second living language, Italian, Spanish or German.
This has changed since the new college reform. Previously the choice of the LV2 was made in 4 °. In addition, 6° graders could choose German in 6 °. It is no longer possible to do bi-lingual in 6 °.
Many pupils take German under the impulse of parents, but this choice must come from the pupil himself. Often students choose German because of the proximity of Switzerland or Germany to that of France.
Yet
there is a high percentage of students who choose Spanish because of
the beauty of the language and because it is the most used language in
the world after Mandarin and English.
